Recap: The 2013 Lamb Pro-Am

In case you haven’t been following along on the action, we have been pretty obsessed with lamb lately. Our adventure started when we scored enough online votes for our recipe (Braised Leg of Lamb Taco in Dr. Pepper Adobo Sauce with Medjool Dates) which then moved us to the final round of the Lamb Pro-Am competition. This event was in full swing at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in Boston last weekend. We partnered with Persimmon Restaurant to prepare our dish for 200+ hungry lamb-lovers. A total of 6x blogger/chef teams from New England competed for the coveted trophy, and more importantly, for bragging rights as the baaaaadest around when it comes to throwing down some lamb!

The Front Row Eats / Persimmon team may not have won, but the Lamb Pro-Am was a blast either way! Congratulations to Chef Tiffani Faison of “Sweet Cheeks” and Blogger Samantha Tackeff of “The Second Lunch”. Since we were busy slinging tacos, unfortunately we didn’t have a chance to try their Lamb Mechoui and Moroccan Marinated Carrots…but we heard it was delicious!

Here’s a few of photos to recap the Lamb Pro-Am 2013. Enjoy!!!
