Someone should have rolled out a red carpet at Mohegan Sun last weekend because the highly anticipated Sun Winefest was hopping with celebrity chefs and Food Network personalities. This star-studded event offered wine aficionados a chance to select from over 1,000 different brands while spectating culinary demonstrations on the main stage…all with one single ticket! Bobby Flay, Robert Irvine, Donatella Arapaia,  and Todd English were just a few of the notable names in attendance. Needless to say, we were extremely excited to be a part and anxious to sample from this unparalleled selection of wine.

Even if you don’t enjoy wine, Sun Winefest (despite the name) offers a variety of spirits such as gin, vodka, scotch, and even an entire 2nd floor dedicated to a vast array of beers and ales. So in other words, there’s no reason that anyone should miss this event!

Here are some of the highlights from this year’s event:

???????????????????????????????Thousands in attendance. This year was bigger and better than ever!

???????????????????????????????Donatella Arpaia cooking pasta from scratch with some lucky volunteers

???????????????????????????????The only thing bigger than Robert Irvine’s biceps is…his dynamic personality. He commanded the crowd and had everyone turned towards the stage. The Front Row Eats team was fortunate enough to meet him and he is truly one of the nicest, funniest guys in the business. He’s very down to earth and I’m an even bigger fan of him now.

And here’s a quick slideshow from our fun-filled weekend at Sun Winefest 2013. Again, if you missed the Sun WineFest this time around, there’s always next year. Just remember to buy your tickets early because this event sells out fast!!!
